REPARATIONS-based discounts for Black and Indigenous people

In acknowledgement that:

☽ information around body literacy, fertility and cycle awareness has been and continues to be withheld from and inaccessible to people of color, and especially Black and Indigenous people with ovaries;

☽ much of the gynecological research that paved the way for Western scientific and medical understandings of fertility and menstrual cycles oppressed and violated black and brown bodies, who continue to experience systemic racism in medical and reproductive care;

☽ existing traditional knowledge of cycles and fertility was undoubtedly ruptured, demonized and too often ultimately lost through enslavement, colonialism and religious imperialism;

☽ the current field of fertility awareness education is largely dominated by and centers whiteness, which furthers its inaccessibility to people of color;

☽ I, as a white settler in the so-called United States, have benefitted and continue to benefit from the legacy of settler-colonialism and white supremacy in multiple ways;

I therefore offer my services to Black and Indigenous folks at 50% off my usual fees, not based on an assumption of financial standing, but in an effort to increase accessibility and diversity and to encourage greater representation of Black and Indigenous folks as practitioners of fertility awareness and related body literacy skills, and ultimately as educators, guides and leaders in the field. In addition, if you are a person of color and would prefer to work with a person of color, I will gladly refer you to my BIPOC colleagues.
